Need to Know

How can I register/ how can I register my child?

As part of the 'One Club' initiative, registration covers membership of Straffan camogie, Straffan GAA and Straffan LGFA for the year. This also applies to family membership. For more information and to register, please visit our Membership page here.

What age groups can play at Straffan Camogie?

At Straffan, we are proud to field both adult and underage teams. We welcome players to join our underage teams from the age of U5 to U17. As of 2023, we are proud to field an adult-level team competing at a Junior level with Co.Kildare. We encourage ladies and girls of all ages and playing levels to get involved and experience the fun at Straffan Camogie.

What days do the teams at Straffan Camogie train?

Our various teams train on the following days:

  • Nursery- Thursday evenings from 6:15-7pm at the skills wall (beginning March 3rd 2023)

  • U8s/9s- Tuesdays on the astro pitch from 6-7pm.

  • U10s/11s- Tuesdays from 6-7pm on the astro pitch.

  • U12s/ U13s- Tuesdays from 6-7pm on the grass pitch.

  • U14s/15s- Wednesdays from 7-8pm on the astro pitch. Some Sundays - time varies. 

  • U16s/17s- Monday 7:30-8:30pm on the astro pitch/grass pitch.

  • Adult Intermediates-  Monday and Wednesday 8-9pm on the astro pitch/grass pitch. 

Who are the lead coaches of each team at Straffan Camogie?

We have a wonderful set of mentors and coaches at Straffan, developing our players all the way up from our Nursery age group to our U17s. Below are our lead coaches and mentors for each team:

  • Nursery (5-6): Catherine Cooke

  • U7s/8s/9s: Paul Aylward and Michelle Purcell 

  • U10s/11s- Ger Rigney, Rob Connolly, Maria Mullahy and Ann-Marie Haughney

  • U12s/ U13s- Noirin Ni Riain, Emer Keating,  Noel Cunningham and Aideen Walsh 

  • U14s/15s- Declan Keville, Damien Nolan, Paul Aylward and Kathleen Hussey

  • U16s/17s- Niamh Stagg, Kerrie Molloy and Eamonn O'Callaghan

  • Adult team- Charlie Keegan, Carmel Walsh, Fiona Farrell and Brian Maguire.

There are many ways in which you can get involved at Straffan Camogie. We appreciate each and every one of our mentors, supporters and committee members. We welcome all who would like to get involved with Straffan, from maintaining our club jerseys to mentoring and supporting our teams, we appreciate the time and dedication of all volunteers at Straffan Camogie.
